The inaugural Africa Petroleum Equipment Global Convention took place in Nairobi on 9th – 11th July 2018. The event brought together exhibitors and delegates from the US, China, Europe, South Africa, India and the Eastern African region.

While speaking at the convention, Jabu Banda-General Manager Retail Forecourt Solutions (Sub Saharan Africa), Gilbarco Veeder-Root reiterated the company’s commitment to the continent saying that they will continue to deliver fuel dispenser technology and integrated fueling solutions globally. He urged market players to embrace Gilbarco Frontier Series II – F230 4×4, F230 & F170 and Frontier Series I- F210 for all their retail sites.

While making presentation, Eng. James Mwangi, the CEO Kurrent Technologies noted that the petroleum retail industry has evolved over the past three decades – in terms of structure, layout, ownership and technologies.

“Processes are also more streamlined through integrated process and systems, from mechanical piping, tank gauges, to electronic, automated desktop underwriter automatic tank gauging (ATG) and fluid catalytic cracking (FCC), and integrated point of sale (POS), back office system (BOS) and hours of service (HOS)”, he said.

On his part Kimemia Mugo, the Managing Director, Alison and Davis Group – the convention’s conveners, challenged the petroleum equipment customer to use the platform to ask the questions that pain them and cost them money because of equipments or services. “Don’t let the exhibitors get away with marketing presentations because – the customer is always right. When you utilize this forum, you will make the AFRIPET matrix complete,” he urged.
